about a winery that’s grown from generation to generation to become one of the most fascinating wineries in Rioja. There’s a huge, five-floor museum with wine artefacts dating back centuries, including 4,000 corkscrews. The modern winery (and museum) opened in 2004, although the family connection to Rioja dates back to 1915.

“Cuvée Inédita” Reserva Extra Brut 2020 ($20)
45% Maturana Blanca, 30% Tempranillo Blanco, 15% Viura, 10% Chardonnay. 30 months on lees, with no dosage. From a 42ha vineyard, “La Concepión,” with clay-limestone soils. Rich, powerful, yeasty, toasty, and spicy, but still very fresh.
