wines tasted

Brut Reserva NV ($22)

40% Parellada, 35% Xarel.lo, 25% Macabeo. 20 months on lees. 9.5g/l dosage. A quietly classic example of cava: a great introduction to the region, but with substance and backbone making it more than an archetype.

Brut Rosé ($20)

Pinot Noir, with 20 months lees ageing. 8g/l dosage, but tastes dry. Ripe red fruit aromas balanced by high acid and lees texture. A lovely introduction to quality cava, at a very good price point.

“Ya Cuvée 23” Brut Reserva 2021 ($20)

45% Parellada, 30% Macabeu, 20% Xarel·lo, 5% Chardonnay. 30 months on the lees. Made for the US market for importer Vinos Libros, this is a very tasty Cava whose lees ageing gives toasty, spicy aromas and a creamy texture. Very drinkable.
