standout fun Mendoza producer
about Edgardo Stallocca established Siete Fincas (“seven lands”) in 2000, having grown up on his grandfather’s estate who had immigrated from Italy to Mendoza in the 1900s. The vineyards are located in the higher elevation areas of Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, as well as lower down in Maípu. A wide range of wines is made, including sparkling from Chardonnay and Torrontés and a rosé from Malbec, all from vineyards at 1,100m.

Extra Brut NV ($26)
100% Chardonnay. Made with the Charmat method for an interesting alternative to Prosecco. Residual sugar is 11g/l which complements the fruity style, balanced by fresh acidity. Straightforward and fun—doesn’t quite justify the price.
