standout aristocractic Franciacorta estate
about there’s clearly quite a bit of old money, the estate going back to the late 1700s when the family hosted prestigious artists such as Mozart. A farming company was established in 1870, while the first bottle of Franciacorta was released in 1971 just after the formation of the DOC. Everything is farmed organically, with the first formal organic release in 2002 (the first in Franciacorta). Non-sparkling wines also made.

Rosé 2019 ($60)
80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay. Two and a half years on the lees, with less than 5g/l of sugar. A deliciously, lightly fruity wine with juicy strawberries and freshly picked roses, and a subtly toasty mouthfeel from the lees. Very tasty, though expensive.
