standout grower-producer with increasing focus on site-driven wines
about after studying oenology in Bordeaux, Rémi Leroy returned to Champagne in 2006. He has 9.5ha in three villages: Meurville, Bergères, and Fontaine. He sells a lot of his fruit to négociants, while making a small amount of terroir driven wines. The wines are left on the lees over the winter before bottling, giving a round structure. Even the non-vintage wines are mostly vintage, with consistent elegance coming from the reserves.

Blanc de Noirs Brut Réserve NV ($58)
100% Pinot Noir. Although labeled non-vintage, this Blanc de Noirs is 85% 2022 and 15% 2021. The base wines are aged in 60% stainless steel and 40% in barrel, which balances and softens the richness of the Pinot Noir. Aged for three years in the bottle on the lees. The fruit comes from the oldest plots that Rémi owns, and is an open, concentrated, buoyant, and savoury style.
